Another great full and extensive bathroom remodel completed just before Christmas 2013. This bathroom was found to have serious structural deterioration in one corner under the old cast iron bathtub. The bathroom sits above a four foot dirt floor crawl space and the tub leak and ground moisture caused much deterioration that went completely undetected for a very long time. Until the demolition work began of the old bathroom. The rot doesn't seem bad to the average person maybe, but this caused the loss of the load bearing structural integrity of the floor joists, the sill plate of the wall, the lower portion of the wall studs and the old diagonal floor boards which span into the next room. There was nothing left to hold much of anything together let alone carry roof loads and all of this sat directly above the main center steel beam in the crawl space. Many contractors would have quickly closed this up with plywood and the new tub, and then moved on. Some would do this due to lack of experience and structural knowledge and some to finish up to get paid. With us, it is never overlooked or covered up, because that is wrong! Everything was quickly rebuilt and the leak stopped. The countertop is granite which we had Darboy Stone and Brick fabricate for us. The plumbing fixtures are from Watters Plumbing Inc. This project lead to additional work from the lady who hired us, which included her roof replacement, another bathroom, crawlspace work, fence, and porch conversion to accessible laundry room. Her daughter has now hired us to do a floor replacement project in her kitchen/dining room/foyer/ and hallways. This whole venture began through painting projects for her son and daughter in-law. We think this is pretty cool stuff, but it is pretty common when the work is good! Hope you all like what you see and call us soon for an estimate of your next project, and "YES!" we can do whatever it is you need done.
