Bathroom with Custom Cabinets
Underlying structure matters! Several years ago, this bathroom was found to have serious structural deterioration in one corner underneath the old cast iron bathtub. The bathroom sits above a four foot, dirt floor crawl space. With the combination of the tub leak and exposure to ground moisture from the cavity below, deterioration went completely undetected for a very long time. The rot may not seem bad to the average person, but this particular bathroom decay caused the loss of the load bearing structural integrity of the floor joists, the sill plate of the wall, the lower portion of the wall studs, and the old diagonal floor boards which span into the next room. There was nothing left to hold much of anything together, let alone carry roof loads. All of this sat directly above the main center steel beam in the crawl space. Some contractors would have quickly closed this up with plywood and the new tub, and moved on; their lack of experience and structural knowledge causing them to simply finish up to get paid. You won't have that experience with Fox River Remodeling Co LLC. With us, it is never overlooked or covered up. Everything was quickly rebuilt and the leak stopped. The granite countertop was fabricated by Darboy Stone and Brick. The plumbing fixtures are from Watters Plumbing Inc. This project lead to additional work from the customer, including roof replacement, crawlspace work, fence installation, porch conversion to accessible laundry room, and another bathroom remodel. Other family members have also hired Fox River Remodeling Co LLC to do their projects as well. If you'd like a similar experience, contact us for an estimate of your next project.
